Emotional AI: PAD Affective State Simulator

This simulation models how an emotionally-aware AI agent actually keeps track of its own mood: not a single label like "happy" or "sad", but a continuous point in the three-dimensional Pleasure–Arousal–Dominance (PAD) space used across affective computing. Fire a stimulus in with the sliders and the agent's internal state vector jumps toward it, then exponentially decays back toward a neutral baseline at a half-life you control — the same impulse-and-relax dynamic used in affect-simulation architectures for social robots and game NPCs. A live 3D view plots the state moving through the PAD cube alongside Mehrabian's eight reference temperament octants (Exuberant, Hostile, Bored, Relaxed and the rest), and the agent is continuously classified into whichever octant its current mood is nearest to.
