Root-Rot Outbreak in a Recirculating Vertical Farm

Stacked indoor vertical farms save space and water by sharing a single recirculating nutrient reservoir across every tier — but that shared loop is also a shared risk. This simulator models a real four-tier NFT rack: a pump lifts water through a UV-C sterilizer to the top tier, gravity carries it down through each tier's channel in turn, and any infected root mass sheds pathogen propagules into the film as it passes, so contamination compounds tier by tier before draining back into the reservoir for another pass. Tune the recirculation flow rate, UV-C sterilizer power and reservoir volume to see how they trade off against each other, trigger an outbreak at the top tier, and watch live readouts track reservoir spore load, per-tier root infection and the yield loss it costs.
