Fish and plants feed each other. Keep the water in balance and the greenhouse pays for itself.
Feed the fish; they excrete ammonia. The biofilter bacteria turn it into nitrite then nitrate. Plants eat the nitrate. Keep a flowing pump, enough oxygen (aeration), a stable pH (β6.6β7.4) and a suitable temperature for your species.
Tilapia love warm water (25β31Β°C). Trout need cool, oxygen-rich water (9β17Β°C) and sell for more. Overfeeding, overstocking, clogged filters and power or pump failures all hurt the fish.
Plants grow with light, warmth and nitrate. Install grow lights for longer days, ventilate hot afternoons and watch the energy budget: solar first, battery second, grid last.
Click the pump to repair it, the roof vents to open or close them and the grow lights to switch them. Hover anything for live readouts. Events such as pump failures, heatwaves, algae blooms, disease and power outages will test you β batteries, a backup pump and good habits help.
Run a glass-and-steel aquaponics greenhouse. Raise fish, let bacteria turn their waste into plant food and sell fresh fish and produce at your market stall.
